From The Desk Of Father Dennis

“The Trinity . . . is also the ultimate goal toward which our earthly pilgrimage is geared. The path of Christian life is in fact a path that is essentially ‘Trinitarian’: the Holy Spirit guides us to full knowledge of the teachings of Christ. And [the Holy Spirit] also reminds us of what Jesus taught us . . . Everything, in Christian life, revolves around the mystery of the Trinity and is fulfilled in this infinite mystery.”

~ Pope Francis (2015)

Just last week we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, our “birthday” as Church. The great Gift of the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, the Advocate, helps us to “be Church” and to understand, as best we can, who God is. Today, the Holy Spirit continues to guide us, to reveal the Gift Who is the Trinity.

The Trinity is the grounding for our daily lives of Faith – think of how often we make the Sign of the Cross – blessing ourselves with the Sign of our salvation. Fr. Dan Ruff, SJ writes: “If we fail to think of the mystery of the Trinity in our daily lives, perhaps we are to be forgiven. We are like fish who fail to ponder the mystery of water: the Trinity surrounds us, sustains us. It is such a basic part of our reality as believers that we consciously cease to notice it.”

United in the mystery of the Trinity,

Reverend Dennis J. Vincenzo
