GRAD
GROUNDED
REALITY
ALWAYS
DEPENDENT

Today we celebrate the Grad Mass, to honor those who have achieved a wonderful milestone. These honorees are completing high school and crossing the threshold into college or other pursuits.

The GRADS should be GROUNDED in the Word of God and the Sacraments of the Church, especially the Holy Mass. So often, college students “give up” their faith, falling away in going to Mass. Stay close to the Eucharist. The REALITY soon settles in; with college this can mean a healthy questioning. “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” [Philip K. Dick] Our faith is always there to support us, strengthen us, revive us. Remember , Grads, that we are ALWAYS DEPENDENT on God, for everything, for life, love, and happiness. God, in the Person of Jesus Christ, is the source of all things.

Please remember that whatever your struggle is, there’s always a solution. Talk to your parents, your priest, or counselor at school. Nothing is out of bounds. We love you, and we care for you. Please let us help for any reason, any problem, anytime.

We love you, and we are proud of you.
In Christ,

Reverend Dennis J. Vincenzo
