From the Desk of Fr. Dennis

Of Many Things

As I write this, I am on vacation. As you read this, I will already be back from my short trip. Thank you to all who wished me well, and those who are generous with their prayers.

I wanted to write to inform you about a change in our liturgical landscape. Greg Phelan, who has been our cantor and leader of song for over thirty-five years, has retired. The effective date was the first weekend in April. Greg decided it was time, for him to spend more time with his family.

The staff and parish of course wish Greg well, and thank him for his dedicated service to St. John of the Cross. Starting with Father Fanning, Greg has worked with four Pastors. I have known Greg for over twenty-five years, since I was here for my internship year.

Later in the spring, we will have an opportunity to wish Greg well with coffee and, as well as a more fitting sendoff.

Please pray for him as he enters a new chapter in his life.

In the Risen Lord,

, Reverend Dennis J. Vincenzo
