A Voice of One Crying Out in the Desert

Advent enters its second week with the voice in the desert!  That voice belongs to none other than John the Baptist – “Prepare the way of the Lord!”

Christmas lists, cookies and wrapping pale in comparison to the Advent clarion call:  “make straight His paths.”  All these traditions have their place, but not if they crowd out or clutter up the Christ Child.  Tell your children and your children’s children the true meaning of Advent.

And of course:

*It’s o.k. to say “Merry Christmas” when everybody says “Happy Holidays.”

*Answer the question:  Why do you come through those doors?  To the waiting Heart of Christ?

Yours in the joy of the season,

Fr. Dennis J. Vincenzo
