11/09/14 Pastor’s Message

Of Many Things

Holy is the Lord! You gave Your
Life to give me mine!
Chris Tomlin

1. The popular Christian musician captures what’s on my mind today, and hopefully on yours. What an incredible promise! In this sacred and holy month of November, we hold all the wonderful people who have gone before us marked with the sign of
faith. Jesus gave His life to offer eternal life to them and us! He preserves us unto endless life, so that life may conquer sin and death.

Please feel welcome to write the names of your loved ones in the Book of Remembrance. They will be remembered at every Mass during November. The book is on a stand beneath the statues of St. Mary and St. Joseph to the right of the Sanctuary as you approach the altar.

2. Work has begun on the repair work to the towers. As I spoke at all the Masses last weekend, the work is being completed by
D’Ambrosio Ecclesiastical Art and Construction out of NY. The work will cost $54,320.00. The source of the money will be out of own savings, to be paid back to ourselves over the coming year. To that end, if you would like to make a donation to defer the cost, any size donation will be accepted by your Pastor with a smile! Does anyone want to jump in with both feet and offer 5K? 10K? 20K? 54K? Pray about it.

Mark your calendars! The Advent Reconciliation Service will be Sunday, November 30 at 4:00PM at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury. A great way to begin Advent and get ready for Christmas…bring your children and loved ones. All ages welcome!

United in the One who died for us,

Fr. Dennis J. Vincenzo
