Living Water in Me—Part 2

The adult Christ submits to Baptism in the Jordan, to sanctify the waters of Baptism for all eternity.  Christ Jesus did not need to be baptized as we do, that is to remove original sin.  Rather, His Baptism orders ours, give it its grace, and allows us to be sanctified in Living Water.

I really appreciate the quote last week from the first century because it directly connects Baptism and Eucharist.  One cannot truly live without both.  One of my goals as Pastor for the New Year 2014 is to deepen our parish family’s Eucharistic identity.  To grow at each and every celebration of Eucharist, to become more like Christ, is only possible if we truly embrace our Baptismal identity.

I pray every day for all the members of our parish, and I offer a Mass each week for all of you and your intentions.  My prayer is for us to be one in the Living Water and one in the Living Bread come down from Heaven.

United in the Living Water
