12/15/13 Pastor’s Message

From Fr. Dennis’ Desk

Ask most people, and they report that I have many pet peeves.  I admit it, I own them, some for a long time.  One of my biggest pet peeves is when Catholics “give in” to the culture and say “Happy Holidays.”  Those two words, innocent enough, threaten to take Christ out of Christmas.  We hear the words, and we get comfortable using them.  I receive many cards from Catholics with “Season’s Greetings” instead of Merry Christmas.  Please – Jesus is the reason for the season – use His Name, the most Holy Name of all.

Christmas Confessions

Fr. Dennis will be available for confession on Tuesday evening, December 17th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm and on Saturday, December 21st from 3:00 to 4:00pm in the church.  These two days will be , the last times to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before Christmas.

Advent Peace,

Fr. Dennis J. Vincenzo
