From Fr. Dennis’ Desk

The Glory in the Flower

What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;  we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind. William Wordswoth

The poem struck me, so I have excerpted it here.  It is entitled, Ode:  Imitations of Immorality from Recollections of Early Childhood.  The entire poem is accessible on Google—it is very long but hauntingly beautiful.  Read the excerpt over a few times.

Our strength is our faith in the Risen Christ, which allows us to see that His love conquers even death.

In the Peace of Christ,

Fr. Dennis J. Vincenzo
